Global AI, Local Risk :
Who Controls the AI That Guards Our Future?
As generative AI technologies reshape economies, societies, and digital infrastructures, a critical question emerges: Who governs the systems that increasingly govern us? While powerful AI models are developed by a handful of global tech giants, their impact is deeply local—affecting national security, privacy, regulatory frameworks, and democratic integrity. This panel examines the growing disconnect between where AI is built and where its risks are felt. Panelists will explore key issues around AI governance, data sovereignty, security risks, and accountability, asking: Who truly controls the AI that safeguards — or threatens — our collective future?
